Glassdome Opens New Munich Office to Help European and Global Manufacturers Handle Carbon Compliance
By John Wright
Glassdome has opened a new office in Munich to help manufacturers handle European carbon compliance and reporting requirements like CBAM and the EU Battery Regulation. The ISO 14067-verified data acquisition, LCA consulting, and PCF calculation capabilities of the Glassdome Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) solution are leading the industry in real data compliance solutions.
The office’s mission has a strong foundation in our partnership with Siemens SiGREEN and proof of concept with LG Electronics, demonstrating the platform’s ability to assess and report on even the most complex supply chains. It is led by TJ Yoon, our Global PCF Business Lead.
“Our Munich office will help companies, particularly automakers, respond to new battery regulations and many other regulatory requirements,” commented Glassdome CEO Simon Kim.
“Our technology helps manufacturers acquire data that in the past would never leave machines. This data can help companies calculate accurate product carbon footprints, run more sustainably, and become more efficient and profitable. TJ and his team will be a critical resource for companies facing declaration requirements and maximum limits on the carbon footprint of electric vehicles and rechargeable industrial batteries.”
Yoon noted two primary reasons that Glassdome is excited about our new European location.
“The first reason is that our product carbon footprint solution is targeted at EU regulations like CBAM and the EU Battery Directive, and that regulation is widely affecting the automotive and battery industries. We needed to be at the heart of Europe in order to follow this regulation closely, figure out the latest status of the regulation, and see how manufacturers within the EU are responding to this regulation. So we were looking at cities in central Europe.”
He continued, “The second is that some of our great partners like Siemens and Systemiq are located in Munich. That made it easy to choose which city we wanted to be in. We’re getting a lot of help from them in setting up an entity and meeting new clients.”
As carbon compliance continues to move toward a Digital Product Passport that demands real data, the Glassdome platform will continue to be a competitive differentiator for global manufacturers.
