Glassdome and LG U+ Sign MOU to Aid Export Companies in Environmental Regulation Compliance
By GlassdomeSeoul, South Korea (April 10, 2023) – Glassdome, a leader in carbon emissions management solutions, has partnered with LG U+ by signing a business agreement aimed at facilitating smooth exports for manufacturing companies. This collaboration focuses on providing solutions tailored to handle stringent global environmental regulation compliance, including carbon emissions reduction.
The signing ceremony, held at LG U+’s Yongsan office building, saw the presence of prominent executives such as Jang-hyeok Lim, Head of LG U+’s Corporate New Business Group, and Jin-ki Ham, Vice President of Glassdome.
With early adopters like the European Union, the United States, and Japan enforcing stringent measures to curb greenhouse gases, the global landscape for carbon emissions regulation is rapidly evolving. A notable development is the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment System (CBAM), starting in October, which will levy charges on certain imports based on carbon emissions.
In response to these changes, Glassdome and LG U+ are joining forces to enhance the Product Environmental Footprint solution for export companies. This solution, developed by Glassdome, leverages real-time factory data and the LG U+ corporate network to accurately calculate carbon emissions. It is designed to ensure data security, limiting the sharing of information to only what is necessary for environmental regulation compliance.
Both companies are committed to working with international certification agencies to streamline the adoption of the Glassdome Product Environmental Footprint solution. This will allow companies using the solution to comply with environmental regulations without the need for additional certifications.
Jang-hyeok Lim, Executive Director of LG U+’s Corporate New Business Group, expressed confidence in the partnership, stating, “In an era where managing carbon emissions is crucial for export companies, this collaboration will create synergies and provide diverse ESG-related solutions, empowering our corporate clients to adapt to changing times.”
Jin-ki Ham, Vice President of Glassdome, emphasized the technological prowess of their solution, saying, “The Glassdome Product Environmental Footprint solution, based on real-time data, is poised to address supply chain carbon management challenges faced by global manufacturers. Our joint efforts will not only bolster export competitiveness but also expedite the shift towards ESG management.”
